How to get to Amsterdam bed and breakfast Rubens B&B

Situated in a private apartment, Rubens B&B is conveniently located in a 1930's residential neighbourhood, in the city centre, adjacent to the Vondelpark. It is actually within walking distance or a few tram stops from the major museums and nightlife spots: Leidseplein/Kerkstraat and Rembrandtsplein/Reguliersdwarsstraat.

Flights to Amsterdam: check this flight scheduler with real time schedules and availability. It provides you with schedules of KLM - with Amsterdam Airport Schiphol as home base - and its partner airlines such as Northwest, Malaysia and Kenya Airways.

By Taxi: From Amsterdam Airport Schiphol you can reach us by Taxi, at the cost of approximately 25 Euro (about $ 27.-) or by train.

By Train: Take the train to Amsterdam - Zuid / WTC (Amsterdam South / World Trade Centre). This train usually leaves from platform 1 or 2. The train ride takes only about 7 minutes. Do not take the train to Amsterdam Central Station, that is a different line.

At the World Trade Centre, take tram 5 in the direction of Central Station, to do so: Go down the stairs or take the elevator, in the hall downstairs you can either turn south or north. Turn north, there is a sign in Dutch: "Noord"
You encounter a ticket vending machine of the GVB, the Amsterdam bus, tram and metro company.

You can either buy strippenkaarten (striptickets) or single and multi daypasses. Striptickets have to be validated every ride, the passes allow you to hop on and off as often you wish during a certain amount of days, they are the most convenient.
The ticket machine only takes coins no paper money, so make sure to have enough coins. If the vending machine does not work, go to the teller.

After ticket purchase proceed down the hall to the last escalator at the right handside, validate your strippenkaart by folding it between line one and two, insert the ticket in the yellow validator with line two at the top and this way you paid for a ride in one zone, which is what you need. Repeat this procedure for every passenger: skip one strip and get  a stamp on the next.

If you bought a day pass, you need to validate this as well by getting it stamped too, simply insert it in the yellow validator at the bottom of the escalator.

Proceed upstairs to the platform of tram 5. Upon reaching the platform you have to cross the track at your right hand side to find tram 5 in the direction of Central Station.
After having boarded, get off at the third stop, which is on Beethovenstraat at the corner of Gerrit van der Veenstraat. This takes another 5 minutes.

Cross the street to the bookshop AKO and walk down Gerrit van der Veenstraat a few hundred yards to Rubensstraat, which is the second street at your left. Rubens B&B is a few houses from the corner at number 38.

When following these directions it is a piece of cake :-)
We suggest you print a copy.

By car: From A10 (Ring Zuid) take exit S108. Take a right at the bottom of the exit. Pass the Citroen garage and bear with the bend to the right. Continue straight ahead along Stadionweg, until the streetname changes into Minervaplein (Minerva Square), which actually is a widening of the street with tall identical apartment buildings at all sides. Turn left at the middle of the square. Immediately turn right again and follow the street bearing to the left. Enter Rubensstraat here. Once you leave the ring road it should take you no more then ten minutes.
